I am Corinne Dowd and this is my 23rd year as an elementary teacher and my 1st year teaching at Brighten Academy. I taught three years in a private school in Chicago, Illinois (where I am originally from). I moved to Georgia and began teaching in the Douglas County School System in 1995. I was at the same school for 19 years. During that time, I taught Kindergarten, First Grade and Program Challenge for Kindergarten, First, and Second Grade. I also received my masters degree from Mercer University.Outside of school, my time is spent with my five year old daughter Myka who will be in kindergarten here at Brighten. My other hobbies include playing tennis, taking pictures, and just being outside.I feel very lucky to be part of the Brighten family and look forward to a GREAT year!
Scott Moran is now in his 8th year of teaching and his third at Brighten. He has previously taught special education and third grade before coming to Brighten and coached at the middle and high school levels. He has one son who he is incredibly proud of named Peyton, who is going into the seventh grade this year.
